The Internal Revenue Service has imposed new rules about publicizing the 990’s of private foundations. The new IRS regulations require organizations to provide copies of its most recent Forms 990 from the past three years to anyone who requests them, whether the request is made in person, by mail, fax, or email. In an effort to provide additional services to private foundations, the Wyoming Community Foundation has developed a separate website, www.wyoming990.com, and we invite you to utilize the site to provide another public site at which your 990 can be viewed. It is our hope that this will become a central site that interested parties can utilize without making requests of your foundations. The site will allow you to post your last three 990’s one time for public viewing; you would be able to direct any party requesting a copy of your 990 to the website. We are aware that many smaller foundations deliberately do not have websites because they do not wish to encourage unsolicited applications. We hope this will provide a simple, cost effective solution to publicizing without having to create and maintain a website.
